The Industries department has withdrawn 155 plots from 140 closed units in industrial areas.
This was informed at a meeting to review department’s activities during year 2013-14 chaired by Commerce and Industries Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia here on Friday.The meeting was informed that Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN) acquired 2019 hectare undeveloped land during last fiscal for providing adequate land to industries.
About 3,400 hectare land has been identified for the current year.Giving information about achievements during the financial year 2013-14, the meeting was informed that 171 small and 10 medium units have been established at a cost of Rs1,472 crore through which 3,814 people have been provided employment.
Besides, 19 new major industrial units costing Rs15,385 crore were established in AKVN areas providing employment to 5,591 persons.Besides, 21 units were expanded at a cost of Rs1,975 crore. At present, AKVN’s industrial areas have 322 small and 23 major-medium industries costing Rs2,540 crore and giving employment to about 15,332 persons.
During year 2013-14, as many as 101 works costing Rs 256 crore against the allocated Rs336 crore were completed and 50 are under progress. A target has been set to complete 132 works costing Rs396 crore during year 2014-15. Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam has allotted 58 hectare land for establishment of small industries and 57 hectare for major-medium industries in the areas under its jurisdiction.
Products worth about 38,335 crore were exported from 451 units in AKVN industrial areas during last 5 years.
At present, 2,289 small industries costing Rs2,184 crore are operational giving employment to 44,812 persons. Similarly, 381 major and medium units are also operational costing Rs31,105 crore and providing employment to one lakh 1,499 persons.
