The fourth day of Aeromedelling workshop ‘Udaan Ki Tayiyari’ was all about fun and learning. The workshop of aeromedelling organised by Regional Science Centre as a part of summer vacation workshop is receiving an overwhelming response by the school students.
The five day workshop that began here from Tuesday would conclude on Saturday. On the fourth day of the workshop i.e. on Friday the students individually prepared the planes and rectify the faults found in the planes.
On the concluding day of the workshop the students will fly their planes in front of their parents. They would not only explain the working of the models, but would also give presentations of their innovative creations.
As many as 20 students from different schools of Bhopal have participated in the workshop to enhance their knowledge about science and its various streams. Through fun learning activities, the students are exploring the unknown and unique facts about science not only attending lectures, but also practically.
In the beginning of the workshop, the students were taught about the basics of aerodynamics, the principles of flying and different parts of aircraft and its functions.
Besides, during the three days, students were exposed to learn and fabricate the aerofoil shape, connecting ‘Rudder’ to the vertical stabilizer, elevator to the horizontal stabilizer and aileron to the wings and its functions as well. Also all the students have prepared five different gliders using high density thermocol and given aerofoil shape to all its parts and tested the gliders’ Centre of Gravity and made them fly (demo) on Friday.
The final launch of the planes would be held on Saturday at Regional Science Centre premises.
