In a special drive against illegal coal trading business, a police team led by SP Manoj Kaushik seized 24 trucks near Barhi Toll Plaza on Thursday night.
All the trucks were on their way towards Dehri-Varanasi, famous for its coal markets. In this team DSP Avinash Kumar, SDO BP Krishna, OIC Barhi Akil Ahmed were also included.DSP Avinash Kumar said that they had got information that some companies who have got permit to transport coal used to send it to Dehri-Varanasi instead of the actual place for which they have got the permit.He said that they had demanded original papers from the truck owners and after going through the papers final decision would be taken.
