The Annual Day of St Xavier’s College was celebrated on Thursday by paying tribute to Father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi in the presence of retired teachers, CMPDI Director Technical cum Electrical Services Dilip Kumar Ghosh and toppers of 2012-13 session.
Notably, it was the fourth day for Xaverians to cherish the cultural spirit since the college organised its fifth graduation ceremony on Monday and then its annual fest ‘Xavier Utsav’ on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Principal Nicholas Tete expressed joy on this occasion and said that college’s re-accreditation with ‘A’ grade by National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) in this session has added an advantage to the academic atmosphere.
“NAAC has accredited our departments with B grade. It is a positive sign for the college’s development,” he said.
Remembering the great souls related to this -year-old educational institution, Principal Nicholas Tete shared emotional words for Father Christian De Brouwer who took his last breath on November 28 last year. Also, Tete spoke about Father Steve Van Winckel and Brother Samuel Toppo who too demised last year.
