The little Flower School, Telco organised Quantum, an inter-school science festival and competition to test the scientific temper through scientific games, puzzles and other fun filled activities.
A total of 18 city schools both ICSE and CBSE participated in the science fest today. Some of the participating schools were loyola School, Sacred Heart Convent, Carmel Junior College, Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Gulmohur High School, Hill Top School, DBMS English School, DBMS Kadma High School, Kerala Public School in Mango and Kadma; J.H. Tarapore School, Church School, Beldih, St. Mary’s English School, Vig English School and Rajendra Vidyalaya. The host school did not participate in the competition.
Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya won the overall champions followed by loyola School. The winners were given trophies and certificates.
A school teacher said that the fest is platform to help students display their talents and promote science related activities among them. She said that the events have been played in a way to test the creativity and scientific temper of the young scientists.
She went on to add that with a vision to make learning more effective through activity based pedagogy, setting up exhibits and providing innovative teaching and educational aids the fest has been organised. Aniket Kumar, a
participant said that the fest was a platform to the students to showcase their interest and talent in the field of science. The event proved to be grand success. With 18 local schools participating, the fest was a platform to show the hidden talents.
‘Quantum’ had nine contests in the day long event. The events were power point presentation named as Cybertricks, Science-o-Phonix, a debate competition, Scientax- puzzle solving, Wedtech- a web page designing competition, Exprescience-exptempore, to name a few.
