Munda asks CM to sack two ministers named in Tara case

Sunday, 31 August 2014 | Mukesh Ranjan | RANCHI

Former Chief Minister and leader of the Opposition Arjun Munda on Saturday demanded immediate dismissal of the two State ministers - Haji Hussain Ansari and Suresh Paswan - who have been named by national shooter Tara Shahdeo as close to her husband Ranjeet Singh Kohli alias Raquibul Hassan, accused of deceit, torture and religious conversion.

Speaking to media persons at the State BJP headquarters here, senior BJP leader Saryu Roy also demanded explanation from Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Agriculture Minister Yogendra Sao who had been allegedly forced to get down at Koderma railway station after he created ruckus recently in Rajdhani Express in an inebriated condition.

"It's good that Chief Minister Hemant Soren has recommended a CBI inquiry in Tara Shahdeo episode but it would be more judicious if he also removes those two ministers whose names have appeared in the case," Munda said.

The CM must immediately suspend both the ministers in order to pave the way for free and fair investigation in the case, he added.

According to Munda, an impartial investigation in the case is impossible until the two ministers are not removed from their respective posts.  "If the CM really considers this to be a sensitive issue, he must immediately suspend the two ministers," he said.

Their resignation is also desirable, as the State government had earlier sacked two of its ministers - Chandrashekher Dubey and Simon Marandi - who raised their voices against rampant corruption in the government. He further added that if the State government does not suspend those ministers or they do not voluntarily tender their resignation to the CM, the BJP will take the matter to the Central Government and Governor Syed Ahmed.

Incidentally, Munda also said that the Raj Bhawan itself is in doubt after it was revealed that Kohli also visited the Governor House during a State programme.

He also said that Kohli has become an example among the liaisoners how he became so powerful in such a short period of time and amassed huge sums of money.

Roy, on the other hand, asked for an explanation from the CM as to how Agriculture Minister Yogendra Sao was thrown out of Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express by the TTE after he created ruckus in the train.  Roy also accused Sao of doing several irregularities in the replacement of over 100 transformers in his area.

"As many as 100 transformers involving Rs 1crore were illegally replaced without any knowledge of  the electricity department or Jharkhand Urja Nigam limited," said Roy.

But the most interesting part of the whole episode was that the replacement was done by a block development officer of the area, added Roy. Moreover, there is no record of the replaced transformers which were possibly taken away by the concerned companies and two out of the three were allegedly fake.

Meanwhile, Kohli, according to sources, during interrogation has accepted that he had contact with many officials in the State Government and one of the judicial officers from Deoghar was a frequent visitor to his Blair Apartment flat.

According to police, the call detail record of Kohli's mobile number also confirmed that as many as eight calls were made from Kohli's mobile number to Deoghhar District Judge's mobile number. Police, on the other hand, have frozen eight bank accounts of Kohli and one bank account of his mother. Kohli had three accounts with Dena Bank and five with Punjab National Bank while his mother Kaushalya Devi had one account with State Bank of India in Bariatu branch.

Kohli, according to sources, has revealed the names of over 40 high profile people who will be interrogated later by the police.

Kohli is said to have revealed that he is also married to another girl Richa who was also known to Tara.

She, however, said that Richa is not the only girl in Kohli's net rather there are many more who need to be made free.

Kohli also accepted that he was running a sex racket and used to supply young girls to high profile officials in judiciary and other departments.  Two of the six mobile phones used by Kohli are said to be in the name of Sherghati SDJM Rajesh Kumar.

Suspended Jharkhand High Court Registrar (Vigilance) Mushtaq Ahmed is also being investigated by the police. One team has also been sent to Sherghati for interrogating the Sherghati SDJM. The police are trying to establish the nexus Kohli was using for getting his works done in the judiciary.

Tara, on the other hand, calling the CBI inquiry as the first step towards achieving her goal, thanked the Chief Minister for hearing her grievances and taking swift action in this regard.

"Now, as the case is with the CBI, those high profile officials and politicians who were trying to influence the case will not be able to do so in the future," she said.

Meanwhile, a three-member team of the IB from Delhi also questioned Kohli at Jagannathpur Police Station. Sources revealed that the team was here to probe the case for any external link.
