Members of the Kashmiri Sabha, Dehradun, protested against Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s statement on Article 370 and burnt his effigy here in the State capital on Friday. The head of Kashmiri Sabha Dehradun, Advocate Suresh Kumar Dhar alleged that the Abdullah family had been involved in the conspiracy to break the nation since 1957 but the Kashmiri Hindus did not let their plans succeed.
"Article 370 was added by amending the Constitution of India in 1957 as part of a conspiracy. The task of pushing the Kashmiri Hindus out of the State started since then. The last few remaining Kashmiri Hindu families were forced to leave the valley in 1990 and since then most of them are now living as refugees in their own nation. Article 370 has prevented major development in Kashmir as the schemes of the Central Government are not implemented here. The resulting unemployment in the region has made the youth susceptible to becoming involved in terrorism," he said.
Kashmiri Sabha secretary Ashok Kaul said that it is due to Article 370 that no investment has been made for 60 years in Jammu and Kashmir and if this article is not revoked the condition of the State will deteriorate further in the future. Extending support to the Kashmiri Sabha, Hindu Jagran Manch city head Amit Tomar said that “the Government of India should not spend too much time deliberating but should revoke Article 370 soon”.
