In a bid to combat water-borne and other seasonal diseases during the monsoon season, the District Health Department has prepared an action plan.
“We have chalked out an effective action plan to prevent and cure the people from the seasonal diseases ahead of the monsoon season” claimed Narayanpur Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dr SK Kanwar in a press release issued here on Friday. As a part of the plan, a district and block level combat squad has been constituted while all the government run primary and community health centers were stocked with good quantity of life saving medicines.
The CMHO informed of comprising doctors, paramedical staff and health field workers in the district and block-level combat squads.He emphasized on providing immediate and effective medical help in case of any outbreak of diseases in any part of the district. “Priority would be given to make available lifesaving drugs in the flood-affected areas and those having poor connectivity” he said.
Dr Kanwar maintained that adopting advanced technology to keep a tab on the seasonal diseases and equipping the field workers with lifesaving medicines will help in keeping the situation under control. “In order to strengthen the information network for better control over the situation, we have connected the doctors, field officials, teachers, Anganwadi workers, Panchayat secretaries and other officials concerned on local level. They were asked to immediately give information regarding seasonal disease through mobile phones, wireless sets or directly at the control room for timely actions” he explained.
Besides, field officials have been asked for chlorination of bore-wells and adding bleaching powder in wells and other water-bodies to ensure supply of pure drinking water in rural areas.The CMHO further issued instructions to hold training sessions at block levels to train the field workers to learn about their duty while the squad members were asked to frequently visit their respective areas.
