Bhopal Mayor Krishna Gaur on Friday presented a budget of Rs94.67 crore deficit. The total income of the Corporation in the next fiscal is estimated at Rs2,007 crore, while the total expenditure is pegged at Rs2,064 crore.
In the budget, the BMC has proposed several developmental works in the State capital, including multi-storey parking facility at TT Nagar, 10 Number Market, MP Nagar and Bairagarh.New flyovers including, one connecting Kali Mandir to Bharat Talkies, another connecting Bairagarh to 3 EME centre have been proposed. The expansion of Narmada Pipeline would continue, targeted to meet population requirement of the city in 2027, besides, there has been a provision of Rs36 crore for revamping Shahpura lake. The Corporation would purchase vehicles worth Rs 10 crore.
New pipeline would come up at Karbala pumping station with Rs1.5 crore, while the BMC has planned to relocate the landfill site of Bhanpur to Adampur Chhawani, which is around five kms away. Besides, Bhanpur site would be developed as centre for organic manure.Around 75 per cent of the solid waste at Adampur Chhawni site would be used to produce electricity. Besides, fire brigades would get new 55 meters hydrolic platform worth Rs7 crore.Distribution of budget expenditure has been segregated equally amongst the seven assembly seats. A provision of Rs5 crore has been made for development of Transport Nagar.
It has been decided that DPR would be prepared for lying of new Kolar pipeline, the BCll will run 50 radio taxis and meritorious children of BMC employees who qualify for PMT or PET would be given laptops. A provision of Rs20 crore has been made for city beautification, Rs20 crore for flyover bridge construction and Rs50 lakh for installation of traffic signals and
blinkers.
