Financial assistance to disabled and ex-servicemen enhanced

Giving a major relief to ex-servicemen and their dependents, Haryana Government has enhanced the financial assistance being given to them.

An official spokesman said that the financial assistance being given to the disabled and blind ex-serviceman had been increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per month. Similarly, financial assistance given to orphan children of ex-serviceman has been increased from Rs 600 to Rs 2000 per month.

Also, the financial assistance to ex-serviceman above the age of 60 years and their widows, who are not getting any kind of pension or financial assistance, and war widows of Defence force personnel’s (Army, Navy and Air Force) who were killed in action during war, has been increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per month.

These instructions will come into force from February 19, 2014 He said that the financial assistance being given to ex-serviceman of pre-Independence era (World War-II Veterans) enrolled before August 31, 1945 and their widows, who are not receipt of any kind of pension or financial assistance has been increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 per month. These instructions will come into force from prospective effect.
