The Forest department, for the first time, has posted Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) level officers in the field. Earlier, the officials upto the rank of Conservator of Forest (CF) level officers were posted in the field. Even now, CF level officers are posted in two circles.
Recently, the State Government had shifted some forest officers. Chief Minister Raman Singh is currently holding the charge of Forest Department. The system prevails in other States, but the proposal for posting CCF level officers in the field was pending in Chhattisgarh. Out of the six forest circles of the state, CCF were posted in Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur and Sarguja. In Durg, Sriniwas Rao has been posted as CCF after his promotion. However, in Raipur, Bilaspur and Sarguja, CCF were posted for the first time. Narasimha Rao, who was Secretary at Environment Protection Board was given new posting as CCF Raipur forest circle. Similarly, Shailendra Singh has been posted at Ambikapur and Anup Shrivastava at Bilaspur. In Kanker and Jagadalpur CF level officers Arun Pandey and Mouris Nandi are posted. Soon they will be promoted to the post of CCF.
It is considered that as their promotion case is pending, they have not been changed.
CCF Sanjay Shukla, posted at headquarters has been shifted to Housing and Environment Department as Secretary. Similarly, CCF PC Pandey has been made Secretary in Agriculture Department. Secretary, Gramodyog Devendra Singh has been posted as Member Secretary in Environment Conservation Board.
Several CF level officers have been shifted to other departments, including Raipur CF to MFIS division Raipur, Sarguja CF HS Kapasi to Forestry and Forest Evaluation Raipur and SC Rahatgaonkar to Forest Development Corporation.
