Odisha has earned the distinction of being the first State to introduce the e-GPF digitally-signed statement and message system for its employees by doing away with the manual GPF account slips.
At a Press conference here, Odisha Principal Accountant General Gargi Kaul said, “No Physical account slips will be issued from today (July 3) by the CAG to the subscribers of the State Government.”
She said the GPF e-statement and Push SMS service for all the employees of the State Government had been launched by the AG in October last year. The annual statement for the year ending March 2014 is now available and can be accessed through the website http://www.agodisha.gov.in.
An employee, she said, could now access the website only after registering his/her name in the website. The developed programme has the facility for issuing digitally-signed GPF statements to the subscribers through SMS service in mobiles along with online statements after registration. The statements can be downloaded.
The system, Kaul said, would help the employees know and get their GPF account statements sooner. Once registered, the subscriber would receive monthly updates via SMS along with the online statements.
The detailed procedure of registration is available on the website.
She said the login id and password or each DDO has already been sent to the concerned Treasury Offices for circulation. Any omission or defect noticed may be brought to the notice of the AG through DDO for necessary rectification.
Similarly, in case of subscribers whose dates of birth are not available in the database would have to forward the dates to the AG office through their DDOs along with documentary evidences like first page of Service Book to complete the registration process.
She said more than 60,000 out of the total 1.6 lakh State Government employees have already registered themselves in the website.
