On the eve of Children’s day on Friday, the DAV Vedanta International Public School at lanjigarh organised Children Fest-2014 on Thursday with Kalahandi MP Arka Keshari Deo attending it as the chief guest.
The MP praised the school authorities for providing quality English medium education in such a remote and tribal-dominated area and advised the students to enjoy studies and spread the value of education. He also visited innovative scientific projects showcased by the school students on the occasion. “Research and development as well as innovative scientific thinking can take us to a new era,” Deo said.
School Principal Shukla Chakraborty said the school, which caters to over 700 students, including 200 tribal students, is committed to provide quality education and building a strong foundation for every child. Among others, Kalahandi SP Brajesh Roy and Sesa Sterlite limited CFO (Aluminium& Power Business) Niranjan Gupta spoke.
Earlier, the students took out an awareness rally on conservation of water on Wednesday. They also staged a street play to aware people about the disastrous results of water pollution and how water will become a rare commodity if it is not conserved.
