The district officials who were given different responsibilities related to three tier panchayat election have been directed to complete their assignments within the stipulated time, said Dehradun Chief Development Officer and District Deputy Election Officer AK Pandey while presiding over a meeting with nodal officials, sub divisional magistrates, block development officers and other district officials at the Collectorate on Friday.
Pandey reviewed arrangements and preparations for panchayat election with the department officials and directed them to take all possible measures for ensuring peaceful conduct of panchayat election in the district.The department officials who were assigned different election related works should execute these with responsibility and honesty. Departmental action will be taken against those officials who are caught making errors or found negligent on duty, he warned.
The Deputy Election Officer said that all the election related works will be completed at block development headquarter level and for this the district officials should complete arrangements for the election within fixed time frame. All the nodal officers were directed to draft work-plan and submit a copy of it to the additional DM and in-charge officer personnel.
The officials were directed to inspect polling booths and ensure all arrangements at polling booths are completed three days before the polling day.The Chief Development Officer informed that in the first phase, polling will be held in Chakrata and Vikasnagar blocks and polling parties will depart from Vikasnagar Aashram Vedic Inter College.
The polling parties for Kalsi will depart from block headquarter Kalsi. The polling parties for Sahaspur block will depart from Guru Ram Rai Inter College, Sahaspur. The polling parties for Raipur will depart from Maharana Pratap Sports College while polling parties for Doiwala will depart from ITI Doiwala. As many as 1,313 polling booths have been established and the officers concerned have been directed to prepare list of sensitive and ultra sensitive polling booths and submit it to the officers concerned soon.
Among those present on the occasion were additional DM (finance and revenue) Pratap Singh Shah, Chief Treasury Officer Jagat Singh Chauhan, Sub Divisional Magistrate (Civil) Mohan Singh Barnia, other SDMs, block development officers and assistant nodal officers.
