CM opens Kerala's 'Shantigiri Ayurveda Kendra'

Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday said that the State Government has been making every possible effort to promote Ayurveda Medical system in Chhattisgarh.

Many complicated diseases could be treated through Ayurveda, which is the oldest system of India, he said.While inaugurating ‘Shantigiri Ayurveda Evam Siddha Swasthya Kendra,’ established by an institution from Kerala at Jamnipali in Korba district, the Chief Minister said that Ayurveda plays the role of a source of inspiration for maintaining lifestyle and eating habits of human beings.

The Ayush Directorate has been making a planned effort for the development of Ayurvada, Homoeopathy, Unani and Sidda treatment methods of Indian Medical System in the State, he added.

Addressing the function, he said that the State Government had expanded health services in a wide manner in Chhattisgarh, during the last 10 years. Facilities have been increased in government hospitals. Many schemes have been implemented to provide treatment facilities to the poor in many complicated diseases,He said, Chhattisgarh is the first State in the country that has started ‘Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana’ for providing free treatment facility in registered hospital to the 56-lakh families of the State, without any discrimination of rich or poor.

Under this scheme, based on smart card, each needy family has so far been getting free treatment upto Rs30,000 limit per year, which now has been increased to Rs50,000 per year, the Chief Minister said.Singh wished success to the ‘Shantigiri Ayurveda Evam Siddha Swasthya Kendra,’ established by the Kerala institution in Korba.

He said that Kerala has a special identity in the areas of Ayurveda and Panchakarma treatment. Health minister and District In-charge Minister of Korba, Amar Agrawal, MP Dr Banshilal Mahto, MlA lakhan lal Devangan and several other peoples’ representatives were present on the occasion.
