Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat inaugurated the newly formed Adi Badri tehsil of Chamoli district at the Secretariat here on Tuesday. He also laid the foundation of various public welfare works costing more than rS200 crore for different areas of the State on the occasion. The CM unveiled the foundation stones for the
rS65.49 crore Aanwlaghat-Ramganga pumping potable scheme in Pithoragarh district, a multipurpose dam scheme in Doiwala, Dehradun, 33/11 KV power sub station at Tavaghat in Dharchula, Pithoragarh. He also dedicated to the public the newly created power distribution sub divisions of Berinag and Dharchula in Pithoragarh district, Bhaniawala and laltappad in Dehradun district along with the newly created power distribution divisions at Dharchula and Doiwala. Talking to the media on the occasion, the CM said that rS169.51 crore had been approved for the reconstruction of damaged potable water schemes. The Peyjal Nigam will construct 466 single potable water schemes while Jal Sansthan will construct 669 schemes.
At the Bijapur guest house, the CM unveiled the foundations of 22 schemes costing rS253 crore. These include the construction of Hari Ram Tamta Traditional Craft Upgradation Institution at Garuda Banj in Almora district with a rS100 crore corpus fund, construction of the Nain Singh Surveyor Mountaineering Training Centre with rS10 crore at Munsyari in Pithoragarh and construction and beautification of various roads in different districts of the State. The Vidhan Sabha Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal, cabinet ministers and MlAs were also among those present on the occasion.
