The State capital sizzled with 44.5 degrees Celsius on Friday. Similar conditions prevailed in other parts of Madhya Pradesh. Extremely heat wave conditions continue to hit normal life making it difficult for people to step out of their houses in the State capital as well the other parts of the State. Sheopur recorded the maximum temperature at 47 degrees.
On Thursday also, sun continued to play havoc as the temperature crossed 44 degree mark in the city of lakes, Bhopal, and was recorded at 44.5 degree Celsius while nights also continued to trouble the city dwellers with temperature recorded on Wednesday night was 30.6 degrees Celsius.
Weathermen said that temperature may slightly go up for a few days if the prevailing overcast condition does not result in showers, but it will again decline from
June as monsoon advances towards central parts of the country after hitting the southern coast.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature in the State in the day was recorded at 46.2 degrees Celsius in Khajuraho with minimum temperature of 25.6 while Guna recorded maximum of 45.3 and minimum of 28.4, Gwalior 45.4 and 27.9, Hoshangabad 45 and 26.8, Indore 41.3 and 26.5, Jabalpur 44.1 and 30.7, Sagar 44.4 and 26.5 and Satna 45.2 and 27.4 degree Celsius minimum and maximum temperatures.
Khajuraho continues to remain the hottest in the day while night of Jabalpur remained hottest in the State. Northern MP too was reeling under extreme heat wave conditions. The hottest three cities were Khajuraho, Gwalior and Guna where the temperature was recorded at 46.2 45.4 and 45.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
In the forecast for Saturday, the weatherman has issued a warning of heat wave conditions in several parts of state during the next 48 hours. Day temperature is likely to rise in Gwalior, Ujjain, Hoshangabad and Rewa divisions. Officials at meteorological department, Bhopal circle attributed the rise in temperature to hot and dry winds from Gujarat and Rajasthan.
