Punjab Government on Friday constituted two State-level committees for sanctioning and scrutinising project proposals submitted under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) in the State.
The two committees — 21-member State level Sanctioning Committee (SlSC) and seven-member State level Project Screening Committee (SlPSC) — has been set up under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner Development (FCD)-cum-Principal Secretary Agriculture respectively.
“Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal gave his nod to issue notifications for both these committees on Thursday,” said the spokes person of the Chief Minister’s Office.
SlSC members include FCD-cum-Agriculture secretary, FC (Cooperation), FC (Animal Husbandry), Finance secretary, Planning secretary, Forest secretary, Rural Development secretary, Irrigation and Power secretary, Joint Secretary to Centre’s Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Joint Secretary to Centre’s Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, representatives of Planning Commissioner, and the State Agriculture Commissioner.
Besides, the directors of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, along with the representative of the vice-chancellors of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) would be the members.
An innovative farmer Avtar Singh Dhindsa would also be member of SlSC, while Punjab State Farmers’ Commission chairman would be the special invitee.n The SlPSC would comprise PSFC chairman, FC Animal Husbandry, PAU and GADVASU vice chancellors, Agriculture Commissioner as its members while the Agriculture director would be its member secretary.
