A ‘ Kaccha -Baniyan’ gang armed with iron rods and sticks stormed a house in the Government Inter College colony, constructed inside the college premises, in Etah district on Saturday night and lynched two of the family members and looted valuables before leaving the crime scene.
In the attack, three other members of the family were also injured. Condition of one of them is stated to be critical and has been rushed to medical college hospital in Agra.
According to police, around a dozen criminals of the Kaccha Baniyan gang attacked the house of one Kallu Khan in GIC colony under Kotwali police station and ransacked the house. One his relative, Mazid Khan had visited his house a couple of days back. On Saturday night the family was fast asleep when the miscreants attacked the house. Hearing commotion, Kallu son Iqbal and his relative Mazid woke up and they offered stiff resistance to the miscreants. The miscreants attacked both with iron rods killing them instantly at the crime scene. In between Sakina (wife of Kallu) and Kallu’s another son Irshad and his wife Afsana also reached the place to the save the duo and they too met the similar fate. Sakina is critically injured and has been shifted to Agra while other two are receiving treatment at the district hospital in Etah.
The criminals left the place with all the valuables of the house. The newly appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anis Ahmed rushed to the spot to investigate the incident. A manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
Elsewhere in Sultanpur district, unidentified miscreants slit throat of an eight year old vegetable farmer by sharp edged weapon on Saturdaynight. The victim identified as Ghisiyawan lived in Basantu village under Jai Singhpur police station with his family. He left for his fields to guard the vegetables. On Sunday morning when his family reached the field to serve him breakfast they found his blood stained body and informed the police about this. The police registered a case in this connection and further investigations are on.
In Muzaffarnagar, a man identified as Rajendra (52) of Kedi Patti under Bhaura Kalan police station was shot dead by unidentified persons when he was working at his field around 2.30 pm on Sunday. The victim was working at a tubewell at his field when he was attacked. He suffered gunshot at his chest and died on the way to hospital. The police believe that the victim was attacked due to some enmity and working on the case on this lice. A case has been registered in this connection.
