74 applications redressed on the spot

The district administration, for redressal of peoples’ problems  on Friday held a district-level public grievances redressal camp in Ratanpur village bordering the remote tribal development block Dharamjaygarh of the district.

large number of villagers from dozens of nearby villages attended the camp. The villagers submitted a total of 154 applications, including complaints and demands, of which 74 were redressed on the spot. The administration received 133 applications of demands and 21 complaints.

In the camp, 16 beneficiaries have been given away cheques worth Rs20,000 each under the National Family Assistance Scheme. Under the Destitute Pension Scheme, pension has been sanctioned to 17 beneficiaries from Kadamdhodhi, 47 from Ratanpur and 8 from Kumhichua village. They would get Rs300 per month pension.

Addressing the camp, MlA Rathiya said that the Government and the administration should reach the people and redress their problems and with that objective, the public problem redressal camp has been organised.

He thanked the district administration for organizing the camp in the far-flung forest village Ratanpur, which is about 105-km from the district headquarters. The MlA assured the villagers that the district administration would redress each application received in the camp.

Collector Mukesh Bansal said that in fact, the public problem redressal camp is an awareness camp, through which the district-level officers give information to the villagers about schemes and programmes being run by their respective departments and how they could get benefits from the schemes.

The Deputy Director Panchayat said that now the beneficiaries of Social Security Pension Scheme and ‘Sukhad Sahara Pension Scheme’ of the State government would get Rs300 per month. Under the National Oldage Pension Scheme beneficiaries of the age group of 60-79 years will get Rs300 per month and that of 80 years and above will get Rs600 per month.

Similarly, the beneficiaries of National Widow Pension Scheme and National Handicapped Pension Scheme will get Rs300 per month.
