The Chhindwara police succeeded in solving the sensational robbery case within 12 hours. The police have arrested six persons who were involved in the case and searching for three more accused.
The police have recovered looted items such as Rs13,800 cash and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs24,600 from the possession of the miscreants.Police said on May 28, a woman along with her husband was going to Khapkala village from Batri village on a motorcycle. Since, there were a number of stones on the kuchcha road, the bike could not move and they started walking on foot. On the way, more than eight persons armed with sharp-edged weapons accosted them.
They beat up her husband Rakesh and took her to a nearby nullah, where they snatched all the gold and silver ornaments from her body.They also attempted to rape her but could not succeed and seeing the strong resistance by the victim and her husband, the miscreants fled leaving the couple.Soon after the crime, the couple approached the Chand police station and filed a complaint. The police registered a case under section 397 of the IPC and launched a hunt for the miscreants.
The police had only one lead that the description of the miscreants- with long hairs. However, the police launched a special campaign in this regard and within hours, al the miscreants were in police custody. Those arrested have been identified as Arjun Singh (17), Arjun Dodani (14), Rohit Sahu (16), Karan Singh Dangi (16), Karan Singh (25) and Umesh Bandewar (19).
Police are also searching for remaining three others who were at the scene of crime.
