3-day tribal dance fest begins in city

The three-day 11th Folk, Tribal Dance and Music Festival, organized by the Odisha Academy of Tribal Culture Research and Performing Arts, was inaugurated at the Ekamra Haat here on Friday.

Artists from various places of Mayurbhanj district staged their traditional forms of dance, song and music on the occasion. Excellent performances by eminent Chhau dance Guru Pratipada Tipiria, Santhali Adivasi dance Guru ludimani Majhi and Bhumija Adivasi dance Guru Sudan Singh enthralled the audience on the inaugural day. A total of 42 artists are participating in the festival, said the academy president Prof Mohini Mohan Patnaik.
