‘serious campaign needed against tobacco’
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that widespread campaign is needed to inform about ill effects of tobacco and serious diseases caused by it. Chouhan released folder for public awareness here on Friday. It has been published under the caption ‘Tambakoo Aj Mauj Kal Majboori Aur Phir Maut’ by Indian Medical Association Madhya Pradesh. He also released brochure ‘Tambakoo Kuchh Tathya’ published by the association. It has been informed in the folder and brochure that consumption of tobacco-based gutkha, paan masala and smoking of cigarette, bidi, chilam etc are lethal habits. Tobacco is the second major cause of deaths in the world. Its consumption causes mouth cancer, several other kinds of cancer, heart attack, impotency, high blood pressure, stroke etc. Tobacco consumption by women is not only injurious to them but also harmful for their embryo.The association will undertake large-scale publicity of this folder and brochure from May 31 though doctors, affiliated medical teams and voluntary organisations. Dhar MP Savitri Thakur, Indian Medical Association Madhya Pradesh’s President Dilip Acharya, former President Ulhas Mahajan, Joint Director Sumit Shukla and Association’s Indore Chapter’s Secretary Mahendra Jain were present on the occasion.
EDU MIN: mODI SKETCH WIll NO BE ADDED IN SYllABUS
Bhopal: School Education Minister Paras Chandra Jain has said that life sketch of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be included in school syllabus. Jain has denied rumours to this effect in circulation for many days. He said that the State Government has taken no decision to include Modi’s life sketch in school syllabus nor any proposal is under consideration.
Kunwar Vijay Shah to meet paswan in delhi
Bhopal: Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah will meet Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ramvilas Paswan in New Delhi on May 31. During the meeting, Minister Kunwar Shah will discuss Madhya Pradesh’s public distribution system, Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana and other schemes. The meeting with the Union Food Minister will take place at 11.30 am. Kunwar Shah will return to Indore from New Delhi in the night of May 31.
Minister directs to increase water tankers
Bhopal:Higher and Technical Education Minister Umashankar Gupta made public contact in villages Sewania Gond and Gora under ward number 24 and heard people’s problems here on Friday. Gupta directed to increase number of tankers to solve drinking water problem. He directed to complete construction of overhead tank at the earliest. The Minister said that roads should be cleaned and waste disposed once in a week. On people’s demand, he directed to cut trees on village Gora’s road. Gupta directed to install streetlights and construct drains. He said that speed breakers should be constructed at the places identified by citizens. Revenue and municipal officers were present on the occasion.

Bhopal: Sant Nirankari Mandal, Bhopal is organising a motor rally to promote Blood donation on Saturday 31 May at Bhopal. Saint Ashok Juneja, Sanyojak of Bhopal unit, in a press release has informed that Sant Nirankari Mission organises large scale blood donation camps in the country and abroad in the sacred memory of Baba Gurbachan Singh Maharaj who laid down his life for upholding the cause of peace, harmony and universal brotherhood.
He added that to create awareness among masses about blood donation and to promote voluntary blood donation, Bhopal unit of Nirankari mission has organised a motor rally on saturday which will start from Nirankari Satsang Bhawan near lily Square at 4 p.m. and pass through Budhwara, Kamla Park, Polytechnic square, Rangmahal, Jawahar Chowk, Bus Depot, New Market, 1250, MP nagar, Subhash nagar, Jinsi square and in the end again reach to Nirankari Satsang Bhawan. Nirankari volunteers in the rally will hold messages and slogans to promote voluntary Blood donation among the masses. Juneja added that a blood Donation camp is also organised at Nirankari satsang Bhawan situated near lily square on the following day ie Sunday from 10 am.
MHOW: Susheel Patil TOPS in chemistry
Mhow: Susheel Patil student of Ambition Academy, Mhow scored 100 per cent marks in chemistry and topped in Mhow tehsil. The director of ambition academy Sushant Hector told that in CBSE class 12th result 19 students scored more than 90 per cent and 26 students scored more than 80 per cent. Nine students of the Ambition academy have qualified for the JEE advance in first attempt. In class 10th result 4 students have secured 10 CGPA.
tribal labour buried alive at quarry cave
Sheopur: A tribal labourer was buried alive when a portion of a quarry caved in while he was working at the quarry situated in a forest near Based village. Ramveer Adivasi (40) met with the accident on Thursday. It took about three hours to pull out his body from the heap of debris.
woman dies of snake bite
Jabalpur: A woman died after being bitten by a poisonous snake in Neechi village. The snake bite Geeta Bai Gaud (35), who went to a jungle to pluck tendu leaf along with other women on Thursday. She was being taken to hospital in serious condition but she died on the way. In another incident, the body of a deranged man identified as Vishnu Kushwah (45) was found lying beside a railway track in Sahajpur on Thursday.
3 kiiled in road accident near satnur village
Chhindwara:Three people, including a couple, were killed while another sustained injuries when their car collided with a truck near Satnur village on Nagpur road. The accident occurred when Sameer Wankhade, an employee of Nagpur-based English daily, his wife Deepti and son Darsh (15) were returning from tourist spot Pachmarhi last evening.Wankhade, his wife and the car driver died on the spot while Darsh was critically injured as the car driver tried to overtake the lorry. The boy was admitted to hospital.
