A health camp was organised in the Maoist-affected Sunabeda gram panchayat of Nuapada district on Tuesday. Over 200 persons of Sunabeda plateau area, mostly tribals and PVTGs (Primarily Vulnerable Tribal Groups) attended the camp, among which 186 persons were treated by doctors in the camp.
Notably, health personnel do not come to the Primary Health Centre in Sunabeda due to remoteness, lack of communication facility and above all because of the presence of Maoists in the area. In this context, the health camp has become a major solace for the locals.
Besides, the doctors treated 24 antenatal cases and immunized 17 women and children. Free medicines were also distributed to the people in the camp, which was headed by Nuapada CDMO Dr Jagdish Mahanand.
