In a major re-shuffle, Punjab Government on Wednesday transferred 25 police officers, including 18 IPS officers.
Besides IPS, other seven officials transferred are of Punjab Police Service (PPS) cadre, said an official spokesperson. Six districts get news senior superintendents of police (SSPs).
The transferred officers included those of the ranks of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).
Among IPS officers, SK Sharma, on promotion, has been posted as DGP, Prisons, while RP Singh has been posted as ADGP (Traffic). Jasminder Singh becomes ADGP (IT and Telecommunication), whereas C Sita Ram Reddy becomes ADGP (Training), Punjab Police Academy (PPA) at Phillaur.
Rajpal Meena has been transferred as ADGP (Provisioning), while VK Bhawra becomes Director, Bureau of Investigation. Rohit Choudhary, on promotion, has been posted as ADGP (GRP), Patiala, IPS Sahota as ADGP-cum-Managing director of Punjab Police Housing Corporation, Sanjeev Kalra as IGP (Armed Battalion), Jalandhar, BK Garg as IGP (law and Order).
Gautam Cheema has been given the charge of IGP (IT and Telecommunication-II), Rakesh Chandra has been posted as IGP (Commando), Bahadurgarh, Patiala, Mukwinder Singh Chinna as DIG (IT and Telecommunications), Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh as DIG (Jalandhar Range), Yurinder Singh as Jalandhar Commissioner of Police, Gurpreet Toor as Gurdaspur SSP, Bikram Pal Singh Bhatty as Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Police, and Gursharan Singh as Commandant-cum-Deputy Director, PPA, Phillaur.
Spokesperson further said that besides these, PPS officers Sukhwant Singh has been posted as Ferozepur SSP, Manminder Singh as Batala SSP, Manmohan Kumar as Tarn Taran SSP, Jasdeep Singh Saini as Amritsar Rural SSP, Jatinder Singh Khaira as Moga SSP, Rajjit Singh as Hoshiarpur SSP, and Gurpreet Singh Gill has been transferred and posted as Commandant 3rd Commando Battalion, Mohali.
