The younger sibling of Railways Minister DV Sadananda Gowda looks ahead in hope that his Minister brother will improve Railways in the State as well as in the whole country. A Railway station master at Nandikoor near coastal town of Udupi in Karnataka, DV Suresh Gowda, specifically wants his brother to increase rail road in the State to augment speedy development.
He told The Pioneer that he was elated at his brother becoming the Railway Minister but cleared that he would never seek any favour from him. “I don’t expect anything from my brother. Nor does he like me asking for any favours. When he was the Chief Minister, MP and MlA, I did not ask anything from him. I just want him to improve the Railway system across the State, especially Dakshin Kannada region,” he said.
It came as a surprise to him when he heard that his brother will be the Railways Minister in Modi’s Cabinet.Suresh Gowda was appointed assistant station master of Hubli in 1985 after passing the Railway Recruitment Board Examination. He assumed charge at Nandikoor station after deputation to Konkan Railways in 2008.
