A day after Sadhu Yadav declared to contest lok Sabha polls from Saran, her sister and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi called him an “enemy”. Rabri Devi is the RJD candidate from Saran in place of party chief lalu Prasad.

“He is a dushman (enemy) and I’ll not appease an enemy. The people of Saran will soon teach him a lesson for this betrayal. He is doing all of this on BJP’s direction,” said Rabri Devi. She added that there are no brothers or sisters but only rivals in the poll battle ground.

Earlier, the controversial brother-in-law of lalu Prasad had stunned the political corridor saying that he would be contesting the lok Sabha poll from Saran as an Independent candidate. Sadhu Yadav had lost the last Parliamentary poll in 2009 from Bettiah as a Congress candidate.

Of late, though, he had a meeting with BJP’s prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi in Gujarat and praised him as a better prime ministerial candidate than Rahul Gandhi and ended up in political wilderness after getting expelled from the Congress.

However, the surprise move by her brother was seen to scuttle Rabri Devi’s poll prospect from Saran. “I’ll not compromise with him …a dushman like him,” Rabri told mediapersons.

RJD chief lalu Prasad however preferred to downplay Yadav’s candidature from Saran seat from where he has been winning lok Sabha poll for the last two consecutive terms.

“I do not care for him...whether he is in fray or not. There will be no impact among the voters…he is not an issue for me or for the voters of Saran,” said lalu Prasad.

Son Tej Pratap, though, hit hard on Sadhu mama for contesting poll against mother Rabri Devi. Instigated by the Opposition parties he [Sadhu Yadav] is doing all this for cheap publicity and he would pay for this by coming last in the elections at Saran.”

The younger son, Tejaswi Yadav, who has been campaigning for her mother in Saran constituency too hammered on mama Sadhu Yadav saying that people of Saran would not only defeat him badly but he would also lose his deposit from there.

 “He has done the biggest mistake of his political career…The poll result will prove my words”, he added. From Saran, Rabri Devi is pitted against Rajiv Pratap Rudy of BJP and Salim Pravej of JD(U). The caste configuration of the constituency has put both the candidates in a close fight but with Sadhu Yadav jumping into the poll ring the battle has become more interesting.
