Even though the NDA Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, made it clear that there will not be any witch-hunt against their political opponents, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu reiterated the same but said ‘law will take its own course including in Robert Vadra’s case’. Addressing his first Press conference in Bangalore on Friday after taking over as Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said, “There is no witch-hunt against political opponents including Robert Vadra. But the law will take its own course.”
Naidu was in Bangalore along with other new Union Ministers HN Ananth Kumar, DV Sadananda Gowda and Siddeshwara who were felicitated by the State BJP.In fact, in the fiercely fought lok Sabha elections Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra was a major target of the PM and the BJP. A booklet was released during the elections by the BJP on Robert Vadra’s land deals.
Naidu said BJP, which had often accused the UPA Government of giving step-motherly treatment to States ruled by it, will not discriminate against States and would keep intact the true federal spirit of the Indian Constitution.“As far as development is concerned, we do not discriminate on the basis of party ideologies of State Governments. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told all of us that you must take States along with us and work together and keep the true federal spirit of the Constitution in mind and work hard,” he said.
