KCR, Naidu unwilling to use official residence

Officials responsible for finding suitable accommodation for the political bigwigs were in quandary with both the Chief Ministers of Telangana and Seemandhra unwilling to move to the buildings identified for them.

While Telangana Chief Minister-designate K Chandrashekar Rao was hesitant to occupy the massive CM's camp office at Begumpet on account of belief that it was inauspicious and not in accordance with Vaastu Shastra, Chief Minister-designate of residuary State of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu was also not enthusiastic to move into the sprawling lakeview Guest House adjacent to Raj Bhavan because he feels more comfortable to work out of his own residence.

KCR, who is a firm believer in vaastu and the advice of the astrologers, was uncomfortable with the idea of moving into the Chief Minister's official residence and Camp Office built in 2004 for YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Sources say KCR feels that the place was inauspicious because YSR died while staying there and none of his successor could complete his tenure. YSR used the place from 2005 till September 2009 when he died in a helicopter crash. K Rosaiah, who succeeded YSR, had to resign only after 10 months. His successor N Kiran Kumar Reddy's tenure was turbulent and he resigned from the post as well as the Congress after three years.

KCR has asked some top vaastu experts to study the Camp Office and suggest changes to remove the ‘defects’ or dosha. Till then, he wants to work from his present residence in Nandinagar in Banjara Hills.

But officials were scouting for some other place and have identified a building in Kundan Bagh Ministers quarters where most of the senior civil servants stay. Officials were urging KCR not to stay at present premises as it was not suitable from security point of view.

Meanwhile following numerology, KCR has also got his lucky number six for his official car. The bulletproof land Cruiser Toyota Prado, provided by the State Government to KCR, has been given the VIP number 6666. This number earlier was with a businessman, but has now been acquired for the Chief Minister. KCR's convoy will also have similar looking four black colour Toyota Fortuner vehicles with the identical number.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu, who was likely to be sworn-in as the Chief Minister only after June 2, was allotted lake View Guest House for his camp office. But Naidu, who operated out of his Jubilee Hills residence during earlier stint as the Chief Minister from 1995 till 2004, was not keen to move out of the place. Naidu feels that his residence was lucky place for him.

On the contrary, sources close to Naidu said, he was uncomfortable with the very idea of camp office and official residence. Giving the example of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, who had official residence and camp office in two adjoining quarters, sources say that the places were misused for wheeling and dealing. “He does not need any such arrangements and was comfortable to work out of his present premises,” source said.

Naidu, who served out of C Block in State Secretariat as the Chief Minister, was also not happy with the allocation of H Block this time. As part of the division of buildings in Secretariat between the two States, H Block was allotted as the office for Seemandhra Chief Minister.
