In the 19th Asian International World Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Organisation (WFSKO) Karate Championship was recently concluded at the Priyadarshini, sports complex, Kalidasa Stadium in Mumbai which was won by Shaktik Balagopal of DPS RKPuram student.
He won gold by winning three bouts in rapid succession and remained unbeaten without conceding even a single point. Sensei Wasim Raja, the personal trainer of Shaktik H.Balagopal, was also felicitated for the achievement of his student. Over 2,500 karate players participate in the tournament and saw participation from 11 countries. The event was organised under the Supervision of Renshi Hassan Ismail, tournament president and 7th Dan Black Belt.
