As per the decision of the State cabinet headed by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh held on May 11, the State Government on Friday issued orders making the salary of panchayat category Shiksha Karmis working at the schools of villages in Chhattisgarh, on completing eight years of their service, on a par with the State Government teachers.
According to the order issued by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, the Shiksha Karmis, who have completed 8 years of their service, would get salary on a par with the state government teachers from May 1, 2013.
As per the cabinet decision, the department has sanctioned special interim relief to the panchayat Shiksha Karmis of all the three categories i.e. lecturer, teacher and assistant teacher, who have not completed 8 years of service in rural schools, at 10 per cent of their minimum basic pay from May 1, 2013.
According to the order, Shiksha Karmi-I (lecturer) with get revised pay scale of Rs 9,300-34,800+4,300 against present pay scale Rs 5,300-150-8300. Similarly, Shiksha Karmi-II will get Rs 9,300-34,800+4,200 against present pay scale Rs 4,500-125-7,000 and Shiksha Karmi-III will get Rs 5,200-20,200+2,400 against present pay scale Rs 3,800-100-5,800. On these scales the Shiksha Karmis will have the eligibility to get allowances on a par with the State Government teachers.
Raman Singh, after discussing with a delegation of Shiksha Karmis on April 26, had declared to give salary and allowances on a par with the state government teachers to the Shiksha Karmis who have completed 8 years of their services and special interim relief at 10 per cent of their minimum basic pay.
