Over 700 couples tie nuptial knot on 11/12/13

Eleventh day of the 12th month of the 13th year of the 21st century (11.12.13) brought happiness for many parents and couples as they welcomed a new child in the family and got married respectively to mark the unique day that comes once in a century, according to experts.

If one takes a walk across the city one will find that in state capital entire wedding halls, hotels and community halls marriage party were occupied. Around 700 couples tied the nuptial knot on this day with the expectation of starting their lives second innings happily.

Hotel Accord Manager Ashok Prabhat said, “We have received dozens of calls for booking of this day. Many were ready to pay double price for availing our services but according to our policy one who first comes gets the opportunity.”

Echoing him a member of Marwari Dharamshala Madanlal Dulichand said, “Everyone want to make their once in life time event memorable as this day is considered to be auspicious so no one wants to leave this opportunity. The booking was made long ago.”

Those who failed to make out for lavish marriage reception on this day due to unavailability of any marriage hall tied their nuptial note in-front of God. Temple pundits were busy in carrying out the marriage rituals.  

Meanwhile, a good number of births were also witnessed at different city hospitals.  As many as nine deliveries took place at Kumkum Vidyarthi nursing home. Gynaecologist Dr Kumkum Vidyarthi said, “We were getting end number of enquiries from the expected parents regarding surgery on this date. The scenario is this hospital doctors are conducting operations back to back.”

“The urge to bring the child on this auspicious day is so high that many people were ready to pay extra price for it to the concerned doctors but looking at the health condition of the mother as well as child doctors denied to take any risk with their patient health,” said a member of Seva Sadan hospital who wished to keep his name secret.
