Dr Raghunath Prasad Singh, Joint Director, Blood Safety along with Dr Shami Akhtar, State Monitoring & Evaluation Officer from Jharkhand State AIDS Control Society today made a visit to Jamshedpur Blood Bank and inspected the two centrifuge machines provided to Jamshedpur Blood Bank by Jharkhand State AIDS Control Society through National AIDS Control Organisation.
The two Refrigerated Centrifuge have been shifted from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi recently. The machines after its clearance from the service engineer will become operational.
Rajnish Kumar, Senior Manager Societies, Tata Steel and Coordinator of Jamshedpur Blood Bank, Sanjay Choudhary, Administrator and K A Raman, Senior Manager Jamshedpur Blood Bank were with the team during their visit and inspection.
With the starting of the two machines Jamshedpur Blood Bank will have four such machines and will further strengthen the process of component therapy and help Blood Bank to reach to the level of 100% component preparation.
On an average Jamshedpur Blood Bank prepares 150 components per day and supplies blood components to nearly 70 Hospitals and Nursing Homes.
The entire region is fully dependant on Jamshedpur Blood Bank in terms of component specially platelets for dengue and cancer patients. Besides nearly 300 thalassemia patients are getting packed cells on regular basis.
