Changi Airport Group wants to start direct flight from Indore to Singapore

To explore Indore’s potential for a direct flight to Singapore, Changi Airport Group (CAG), a Singapore-based airport operator visited Madhya Pradesh on February 17 and 18.

The agenda was to discuss the potential of Indore for a direct flight as well as to understand the associations and chambers in Madhya Pradesh that CAG can connect to key functions in Singapore’s Changi Airport, focusing on airport operations and management, air hub development, commercial activities and airport emergency services.

Confederation of Indian Industry has taken the agenda with its eminent industry members and concerned Government Department.

The CII-CAG meeting was well attended by Wong Ken Mun, Centre Director, IE Singapore, Phau Hui Hoon, Senior Manager, Changi Airport Group, laura lim, Senior Associate, Changi Airport Group and Ranjan Mimani. Vice Chairman, CII State Council, Sunil Chordia, Past Chairman, CII State Council, Manish Rajoria, Vice-Chairman, CII Bhopal Zone Council, Mukesh Sharma, Convener CII State Panel on Skill Development, Member , Mihir Merchant, Member CII State Council, Rajesh Maheshwari, Member CII along with Dibyajyoti Bhuyan, Head-CII State Office.

Phau told the members that Changi Airport is the one of the largest airports in Singapore in terms of the air traffic and number of passenger travelling to and fro. CAG is now looking forward for the expansion of its services especially in central India.

 

Knowing the business potential and opportunities available in Madhya Pradesh they want to start a direct flight from its business capital Indore to Singapore and are quite positive about the development in coming time.

Mimani said that Singapore is not only a tourist and business destination but also having the connecting point of different other flights for other countries especially in Asia. He also explained that such a direct connectivity between Singapore and Indore would serve the dual purpose of business as well as leisure-cum-tourist travel.

Rajoria shared that Singapore and other South Asian Countries are becoming a preferred hub for business expansion amongst industrial lobby in Madhya Pradesh. Merchant also supported the idea of having direct fight between Madhya Pradesh and Singapore as it would save the precious time and cost in today’s available options.
