Caste certificate: Jugran asks Govt to spell out stand

Friday, 31 May 2013 | PNS | Dehradun

Former chairman of Rajya Nirman Andolankari Samman Parishad, Ravindra Jugran expressed concern over what would be the next step of Congress-led State Government as the High Court had pronounced cut off date for issuance of caste certificate is 1985 instead the date of formation of Uttarakhand.

While addressing the mediapersons in a press conference held in Dehradun on Thursday, Jugran claimed that he had filed petition to the double bench of High Court after the single bench chaired by Justice Tarun Agarwal gave ruling to fix the date of State’s formation for issuing the caste certificate.

Taking cognizance on the verdict, the Congress-led State Government had issued Government order for issuing the caste certificates.

“After this verdict of High court, now question is being raised that will State Government quash the caste certificates issued between April 02- May 28, 2013 or will move to Supreme CourtIJ”

He appealed to the State Government that they should take its stand as this matter is directly concern with the residents of Uttarakhand, who have been living here before the inception of Uttarakhand.

Jugran also asked to State Government whether the Government is going to compensate to sufferers or not.

He also alleged that the Congress led State Government had played with the sentiments of those residents, who have been living here for the last three decades.

It is not advisable to compare those residents who are living in Uttarakhand for the last three days in comparison to those residents, who migrated to Uttarakhand after the formation of the State on 09 November, 2000.

He urged the State Government to consider all aspects before issuing those government orders that are directly connected with the sentiments of the residents of Uttarakhand. Rajkumar Kakkar and Yograj Khanduri were also present.
