Balco DPS organises students' investiture ceremony

The local branch of Delhi Public School Wednesday organised an oath taking ceremony (investiture) of school students in a colourful function. Chief Guest of the function, P R Kumbhkar, Chief Medical Officer Korba, in his address said that for students besides study, sports and other activities, sound health was also necessary.

Health is the greatest asset of a man. Every student is blessed with talents and the only need is to bring that talent in to open, to shape them in proper way, for which we should keep the interest of the child into our mind. leadership is also an important field and I am happy to see that at school level itself an opportunity of leadership is given to students,’ he added.

Special guest of the function Principal of DPS Korba Satish Sharma in his address asked the students to think in wider perspective because in today’s world education is not limited to classrooms only, instead, culture and nature have also become a part of it. Therefore, one should have contacts with a wider section with a wider perspective.

School principal Ram Singh welcomed the guests and said the discipline is the backbone of any institution and fortunately our students union has established good standards of discipline and I hope that this tradition would be maintained in future too. Our country has a democratic set up and we are proud of our democratic traditions. In the constitution of Students body we have applied both election and selection processes in a coordinated and balanced way to give it to a new height,’ he added. Earlier, the function was inaugurated by the chief guest by lighting the traditional lamp followed by a welcome song by a group of girl students. Thereafter, the chief guest administered oath to student leaders.
