Punjab is all set to get 12 more IAS officers. For the union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday cleared the names of 12 PCS officers for promotion to the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) cadre.
The decision was taken in the meeting of the selection commission of UPSC held in New Delhi. Punjab Chief Secretary Rakesh Singh and Secretary Personnel Anirudh Tiwari were the members of UPSC selection committee.
The PCS officers promoted to IAS cadre are Sukhwinder Singh, Gurdev Singh Ghuman, MS Jaggi, PS Gill, Manpreet Singh, Jaskiran Singh, Dilraj Singh Sandhawalia, Manjit Singh Brar, Kamalpreet Brar, Tejinder Singh Dhaliwal, DPS Kharbanda, and Bhupinder Singh. There promotions are being finalized against seven posts of 2010-2011 and five posts of 2012-2013.
PCS mains results declared
Chandigarh: Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) on Thursday declared the results of the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination (PCS Mains), 2012.
Out of 1,850 candidates appeared in the examination, 473 candidates have been shortlisted for the interview, to be held from September 24 onwards.
The test was conducted to fill 160 seats, including 30 in PCS (Executive Branch), 20 posts of deputy superintendent of police, 30 of excise and taxation officer, nine of tehsildars, 25 of food supply and consumer affairs officers, among others.
