Loyola School added another milestone to its rich legacy with the raising of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit on Friday. The event marked the school’s commitment to instilling discipline, leadership, and patriotism among students, further strengthening its mission of holistic education.
The NCC Raising Ceremony was graced by the distinguished Commanding Officer of the Indian Army, Colonel Vinay Ahuja, as the Chief Guest. Joining him were ADM Col. Prem Chandra Jha, Sibedar Major Ravin Khandal, and three other officers, adding to the event’s prestige.
The event commenced with the soul-stirring official NCC song, setting an inspiring tone for the proceedings. Following this, Fr. Vinod Fernandes, S.J., Principal of Loyola School, extended a warm welcome to Col. Ahuja, who was then felicitated by Fr. K.M. Joseph, S.J., Rector of Loyola School. To commemorate the occasion, Jayanthi Sheshadri, Vice-Principal (Senior Section), presented a memento to Col. Ahuja as a token of gratitude.
Adding to the significance of the moment, Kripa Bhatia, a student of Loyola School, eloquently spoke on the importance of NCC in shaping future leaders. This was followed by an insightful presentation by GCI Ruchita Gautam, highlighting the core values and mission of the NCC. The much-awaited moment arrived when Col. Ahuja officially declared the NCC unit open, marking a new chapter of unity, discipline, and patriotism for the school.
In his motivational address, Col. Ahuja encouraged students to actively participate in NCC activities, emphasizing the values of discipline, service, and leadership. His speech left an indelible impact on the young minds, inspiring them to uphold the NCC motto: “Unity and Discipline.”
Adding further significance to the occasion, Loyola School inaugurated its NCC Office, symbolizing the school’s commitment to fostering national pride and responsibility among its students. The event also saw the unveiling of the NCC Board near Gate No.1, standing as a testament to this remarkable milestone.
