Hry Chief Secretary launches e-Learning portal for e-Office
Chandigarh: To help Government employees enhance their digital skills and streamline administrative processes, Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi on Thursday launched an e-Learning portal for the e-Office platform. He said, “The initiative marks a major step toward a more efficient, paperless governance system, ensuring that all government departments adopt digital workflows effectively.” He further said that the e-Learning portal, developed by the Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (HARTRON), provides structured training modules for employees.
Hooda criticises increase in power tariff
Chandigarh: Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday alleged that the BJP- led State Government has put a big burden on the public by increasing electricity rates by 40 paise per unit and creating new slabs. Talking to Reporters, Hooda said, “On one hand, it has given the shock of inflation to the public by increasing electricity rates, while on the other hand, it has given the shock of unemployment to hundreds of employees of Kaushal Rozgar Nigam by removing them from work,” he said. He further said that earlier, this government has put a big burden on the public by imposing an additional FSA of about Rs 95 on consumers who use more than 200 units. The government has also increased the electricity rates given to the industry, along with the common consumers. “Industries are already migrating from Haryana. Due to expensive electricity, investors will now avoid coming to Haryana and unemployment will increase in the state,” he stated.
Hry Minister asks officers to operate toy train & hot air balloon in Ambala Cantt
Chandigarh: Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij on Thursday said that there is a plan to introduce open/double decker buses in Ambala Cantonment, similar to those in major domestic and international metropolitan cities, which will take tourists around places like the Shaheed Smarak, Science Center, Bank Square, Rani Ka Talab and will finally reach Subhash Park. This will give people a great opportunity to see the beauty of the city. Presiding over a meeting with the officers, he said that Subhash Park has become a major attraction not only in Ambala but in Haryana, with the number of visitors increasing steadily. He directed the committee members and officers to start the operation of a toy train and hot air balloon for the entertainment of children. He also directed the Municipal Council officers to take immediate action on this, as it will further enhance the entertainment for children and people at the park.
Rs 267 crore sanctioned for various road projects in Himachal: Vikramaditya
Shimla: Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh on Thursday said the Centre has sanctioned Rs 267 crore for various projects, including national highways, in Himachal Pradesh. A total capital expenditure request of Rs 1,400 crore was submitted to the Union government for the financial year 2025-26, out of which Rs 267 crore has been released in the first phase, he said in a statement issued here. Singh said that "he had personally raised the matter" with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on multiple occasions "to expedite approvals and fund allocations for these projects". Epressing gratitude to Gadkari for sanctioning the funds in the initial phase, the minister said the approved projects include the construction of three bridges each in the districts of Chamba and Una. Additionally, Rs 54.37 crore has been allocated for landslide mitigation on the Nigulsari-Nathpa road, while Rs 40.85 crore has been sanctioned for landslide mitigation near Keru Bridge on the Katori Bangra-Banikhet-Chamba-Bharmour road, he added.
