Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ambitious task of delivering water to every farm through the river-linking campaign is progressing rapidly. It is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh that two major multipurpose river-linking projects, Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal, have been initiated. Today, with the Narmada-Kshipra Micro Lift Irrigation Project, Narmada water has reached Tarana. When water reaches dry fields, golden crops will flourish.
The Chief Minister was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Rs 2,489.65 crore Narmada-Kshipra Multipurpose Micro Lift Irrigation Project. The event was also addressed by Ujjain district in-charge and Minister of State for Skill Development and Employment (Independent Charge) Gautam Tetwal, Akhara Parishad's General Secretary Harigiri Maharaj, and Member of Parliament Anil Firozia. The event saw the presence of Shajapur MLA Arun Bhimavad, Tarana MLA Mahesh Parmar, regional public representatives, and a large number of dignitaries.
During his visit to Tarana, Yadav inaugurated several key infrastructure projects Rs 9.64 crore Indore High-Level Bridge (Water Resources Department), Rs 5.73 crore for Community Health Centers, Rs 5.21 crore for 11 Tap Water Projects, Rs 7.15 crore for new building for a sub-health centre, and Foundation stone for a high school building in Kadri village under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
Yadav emphasized that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership; India is progressing rapidly, emerging as a global powerhouse in all sectors. The nation has gained worldwide recognition and respect, with modern advancements in the defence sector.
Madhya Pradesh, known as the 'Mayaka of rivers', has over 250 rivers. The Prime Minister resolved long-standing inter-state river disputes, paving the way for river-linking projects. The Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) project faced disputes between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for 20 years, but with the resolution, the project is now taking shape. Similarly, work has commenced on the Ken-Betwa Link Project following agreements between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. These projects aim to provide water to every farm in the state.
Yadav highlighted the continuous efforts to uplift farmers. He informed, Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana, farmers receive Rs 12,000 annually. The state government is procuring wheat at Rs 2,600 per quintal this year. Animal husbandry is being promoted, with subsidies for farmers rearing 10 cows. Milk producers will receive Rs 5 per litre as an incentive, with a vision to make Madhya Pradesh the No. 1 state in milk production.
Yadav reiterated that women's empowerment is a top priority. Under PM Modi's leadership, the central government has decided to provide 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha by 2029, with additional seats to be allocated. Women receive 50% reservation in local body elections and 35% in government jobs in the state. The Ladli Behna Yojana has significantly benefited women. The government will provide Rs 5,000 per month as an incentive for women working in the readymade garment industry and will set up training centres for their skill development. Job creation is a priority, with plans to recruit one lakh candidates for government jobs within a year, including large-scale recruitments in the police and health departments.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that for thousands of years, governance has followed the principles of Sanatan Dharma. He highlighted Madhya Pradesh's deep cultural roots. He announced that Chitrakoot Dham, where Lord Ram spent 11 years, would be developed like Ayodhya. Apart from this, Places associated with Lord Krishna's pastimes in the state will be developed as pilgrimage sites, 'Krishna Pathey'.
