An 8-year-old girl drowned while fetching water at Junapani village under Gunga police station area on Tuesday.
The deceased identified as Radhika Kuswaha went missing in the evening on Tuesday when she had gone to answer nature's call and later she was found in a well.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
The reason of the death would be investigated as the family members failed to provide reason behind the death.
Family members told police that Radhika had gone for toilet and when she failed to return for long her mother went to check and found a single slipper and informed husband and locals. The locals searched for over an hour to fish out the body.
