A body an elderly man was found floating in a pond near Kumuda Pahada in Titilagarh in Balangir district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as P Chiti Babu, a retired railway staff, a resident of Malgodampada near the Balangir railway station.
Locals first spotted the body floating in the pond in morning and informed police.
The cops reached the spot and started investigation.
Though the exact reason behind the incident was yet to be ascertained, it was suspected that the man might have drowned in the pond while cleaning his body after attending nature’s call.
