Wanted Murder Accused Arrested After Police Encounter in Delhi

A wanted murder accused was arrested following a brief encounter with the Delhi Police in North-West Delhi on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Suraj alias Kana, was apprehended near Prembari Pul after police acted on specific intelligence regarding his movement. According to officials, he had been absconding in connection with a murder case.
Police teams had laid a trap in the area and intercepted the accused when he arrived on a scooter. When asked to stop, he allegedly opened fire at the officers, prompting retaliation.
During the exchange, a bullet reportedly struck a police officer’s bulletproof jacket. In response, the police fired back, injuring the accused in the leg. He was subsequently overpowered and taken into custody.
An illegal firearm was recovered from Suraj, and he was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment. Officials confirmed that he remains under police custody, and further investigation is underway to determine his involvement in other criminal activities and possible links.
The incident highlights continued efforts by Delhi Police to track down wanted criminals and maintain law and order in the national capital.
