Vijay TVK Manifesto Promises 8 Gram Gold Cash Aid Jobs As Party Nears Majority Tamil Nadu

As Vijay’s party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) surges ahead in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, attention has shifted to the party’s ambitious poll promises that have captured voter interest across the state.
According to trends released by the Election Commission of India, TVK is leading in 105 constituencies, emerging as the single largest party, though still short of the majority mark of 118 in the 234-member Assembly.
Key Promises: Welfare-Focused Agenda
A major highlight of TVK’s manifesto is the promise of 8 grams of gold for marriage assistance, along with a quality silk saree for economically weaker brides. The scheme is among several welfare initiatives aimed at women, including a monthly financial aid of ₹2,500 for those below 60 years of age and six free LPG cylinders annually per family.
The party has also pledged interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh for women-led self-help groups, signalling a focus on financial empowerment.
Education and Youth Initiatives
Emphasising education, Vijay has proposed ₹15,000 annual assistance to families of children studying in government and aided schools to prevent dropouts. The manifesto also includes plans to establish 100 residential schools named after K. Kamaraj and offer higher education loans up to ₹20 lakh.
For the youth, TVK has promised to create five lakh government jobs and an equal number of paid internships. Unemployed graduates are set to receive monthly assistance of up to ₹4,000.
Agriculture and Economy
The party has outlined significant relief measures for farmers, including a full waiver of crop loans for those owning less than five acres and a 50% waiver for larger landholders. It has also promised higher Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for key crops such as paddy and sugarcane.
To boost the business environment, TVK has committed to issuing business licences within 21 days and improving ease of doing business across the state.
Healthcare and Social Welfare
On healthcare, Vijay has proposed a ₹25 lakh family health insurance scheme, free annual health check-ups, and modernisation of hospitals. A drug-free Tamil Nadu is also part of the broader vision.
Social welfare measures include a monthly pension of ₹3,000 for senior citizens and differently-abled individuals, 200 units of free electricity, and 100% piped drinking water supply for households.
Governance Reforms
TVK has also promised governance reforms, including doorstep delivery of public services like ration supplies and a legal guarantee for time-bound delivery of certificates and land documents.
With counting still underway, the focus remains on whether TVK can convert its strong performance into a clear majority. If it does, Vijay’s wide-ranging promises could shape Tamil Nadu’s policy landscape in the coming years.
