Suvendu Adhikari thanks Amit Shah calls him modern day Chanakya after Bengal CM development

Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Kolkata for the BJP legislature party meeting has intensified political developments in West Bengal, with speculation over the state’s next Chief Minister continuing to dominate discussions.
Amid the high-stakes meeting, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari expressed gratitude to Amit Shah and referred to him as a “modern-day Chanakya,” highlighting his central role in the party’s strategic decision-making process.
The BJP legislature party met in Kolkata on Friday to elect its leader following the party’s historic victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections.
While Adhikari is seen as a frontrunner for the Chief Minister’s post, the party is yet to make an official announcement regarding its final choice.
Amit Shah is expected to play a key role in finalising the leadership decision as part of his visit to the state.
During the meeting, Shah also addressed party leaders and outlined BJP’s governance and security priorities in West Bengal.
He emphasized national security as a key focus area and stated that the party would work across the country to address security-related challenges.
Shah also praised the Election Commission of India for conducting what he described as a peaceful election process in the state.
He highlighted the BJP’s performance across districts, claiming significant electoral gains in several regions of West Bengal.
The Union Home Minister also criticized the previous Trinamool Congress government, accusing it of failing to provide adequate space for opposition voices and governance transparency.
