Supreme Court plea seeks fresh NEET UG 2026 exam under judicial supervision after cancellation

The Federation of All India Medical Association has approached the Supreme Court of India seeking the replacement or restructuring of the National Testing Agency following the cancellation of NEET UG 2026 over alleged paper leak concerns.
The petition, filed through advocate Tanvi Dubey, has demanded that a fresh NEET UG 2026 examination be conducted under judicial supervision to ensure transparency and restore confidence among students.
The plea comes days after the National Testing Agency cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination held on May 3 amid allegations that leaked “guess papers” circulated on WhatsApp and Telegram allegedly matched more than 100 questions from the actual exam paper. The Central Government later handed over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
The petition has sought the creation of a high-powered monitoring committee headed by a retired Supreme Court judge along with a cybersecurity expert and a forensic scientist to oversee the re-conduct of the examination until a new independent testing body is formed.
FAIMA has also urged the court to direct authorities to adopt stronger security measures, including digital locking of question papers and a transition to a Computer Based Test system to reduce risks associated with physical handling of examination papers.
Additionally, the plea requests the Central Bureau of Investigation to submit a status report within four weeks detailing the progress of the probe, arrests made, and prosecution updates related to the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak case.
The petition further seeks publication of centre-wise results to improve transparency and help identify irregularities in the examination process.
