Yogi Adityanath offers prayers at Kashi Vishwanath after UP cabinet expansion

UP CM Yogi Adityanath visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and offered special prayers following the recent expansion of the Uttar Pradesh cabinet.

Visuals from inside the temple complex showed the Chief Minister participating in religious rituals and offering prayers to Lord Shiva amid Vedic chants and traditional ceremonies conducted by temple priests.

The visit came a day after the second expansion of the Yogi 2.0 cabinet, a political development widely seen as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Anandiben Patel was also present during the ceremony, adding significance to the occasion. The temple premises witnessed a spiritual atmosphere as priests carried out rituals according to traditional customs.

Political observers believe the timing of the visit carries both symbolic and political importance, reflecting the BJP leadership’s continued emphasis on cultural and religious outreach ahead of future electoral contests.

The visit to Kashi also aligns with the party’s broader focus on spiritual symbolism. On the same day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in religious observances at the Somnath Temple in Gujarat.

Analysts say such temple visits often resonate strongly with the BJP’s support base and help reinforce the leadership’s connection with India’s spiritual heritage.

The recent cabinet expansion in Uttar Pradesh is being viewed as an attempt to strengthen regional and caste representation within the government as the BJP sharpens its political strategy ahead of the next Assembly polls.
