Woman Trainee Deputy Tahsildar Dies by Suicide in Telangana

A 25-year-old woman trainee Deputy Tahsildar allegedly died by suicide at her home in Mahabubabad town of Telangana, police said on Tuesday, August 18.

The woman, who was undergoing Deputy Tahsildar training at the Khammam Collectorate, was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her residence on Monday, August 17, evening, a police official said.

No suicide note was found, police said. The woman had recently been selected for the Group 2 services.

Her mother, in a complaint filed with police, alleged that a municipal employee was responsible for her daughter's death over a suspected love affair.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case of abetment of suicide against the municipal employee, the official said. Further investigation is underway.
