Haryana: Constable found dead inside police station in Nuh

A 26-year-old constable was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a police station in Haryana’s Nuh district on Tuesday, August 18, officials said.

Ankit Kumar, a native of Jhajjar district, was found lying unconscious inside the Bichhor police station. He was rushed to a government hospital, where doctors declared him dead, police said.

The family said that Ankit, who was recruited three years ago, was set to get married next February, for which shopping and other preparations were underway.

“Ankit reached the polite station at the usual time on Tuesday, August 18, morning. Some time later, he stepped out to use the washroom. After he did not return for a long time, his colleagues found him lying unconscious on the floor outside. He was rushed to the Mandikhera Hospital where doctors declared him dead,” Bichhor SHO Sukhbir Singh said.

“It appears that Ankit died of a heart attack though the exact cause of death will be known once we receive the post-mortem report. We have lost a promising colleague,” he added. COR
