West Bengal class 12 results 2026 declared; Overall pass percentage stands at 91.23%

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) declared the Class 12 examination results for 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 91.23 per cent.
According to official data, girls outperformed boys in this year’s Higher Secondary examinations. The pass percentage among girls stood at 92.47 per cent, while boys recorded 89.71 per cent.
A total of 64 students, including 56 boys and eight girls, secured positions in the top 10 merit list.
Adrito Pal of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya emerged as the state topper by scoring 496 out of 500 marks.
Jishnu Kundu of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith Purulia and Ritobrata Nath of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya jointly secured the second rank with 495 marks each.
The results announced on Thursday included fourth semester candidates under the new examination system, supplementary candidates of the third semester and students appearing under the old annual examination pattern.
Officials said candidates dissatisfied with their fourth semester results will be allowed to reappear for the examination next year after surrendering their current result.
According to the council, a total of 7,10,811 students appeared for the Higher Secondary examinations this year. Of these, 6,35,864 students took the final semester examination under the new system, while 59,452 candidates appeared for supplementary examinations and 15,495 students wrote exams under the old annual pattern.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari congratulated the successful candidates in a post on social media and wished them success in their future endeavours.
